On every walk we learn more about what we are capable of. This has certainly been a huge growth experience for us. This was our fourth Cape Camino Walk – part 1 of day 2. We started at Muizenberg beach and walked along the St James Walkway.

I had heard about the pools along the beach, but had never really noticed them before. Friends of mine had been swimming at Dalebrook recently, so I got to see where that was on our walk. I also got to scramble over some rocks (out of that comfort zone) and walk right next to the railway line.

Back on Main Road in Kalk Bay we actually saw a Cape Camino sign! And then we started going uphill – Boyes Drive again and then Trappieskop.

We definitely took longer than the estimated 25 minutes to get to Clovelly but we got there! With a few stops to catch our breath.

As the name suggests, there were plenty of steps!

Finally we reached the top and could see our destination. We were all quite pleased – it’s only a smidgen away and we should be finished soon.

But I think we went slower on the downhill than on the uphill. It was quite uneven.
We ended our walk at the Clovelly Country Club. Our map isn’t very interesting! But the walk was fantastic and a huge achievement for the three of us. You don’t actually know what you can do until you try.
