A Spanner in the Works

Sometimes life sucks! We were all set to continue on our Cape Camino walks, and all of a sudden M was in hospital having a back operation! All was on track on Wednesday, and suddenly Thursday she was in hospital. The operation was Friday and Saturday she was home! Our walk was scheduled for Sunday, so F and I decided it would be fitting to walk from her house to M’s house.

Not many pictures from this walk, but we crossed over the Swartrivier.

And walked up the highway onramp to Rondebosch Common.

Then along Milner Road, Belvedere Road and Rosmead Avenue to M’s house.

Not a bad walk for the two ambulatory members of the group, and with the sole purpose of visiting M as she lay on the couch at home. It was good to see her alive, if not kicking!

A short note on this walking group. The 3 of us bonded on our first walk and we need our weekly get-togethers not just to walk, but to stay sane in the world. We seem to be on the same wavelength and it’s rare to find people you instantly click with. So we are special to each other. We also push each other, and push back when pushed! I would never have got this far with my walking without these two by my side.
