The Road to Recovery

M says today that she’s ready to go for a 10km walk. I’m thinking 8km and F agrees. But in any case, we should be back to the Cape Camino route on our next walk. Apparently, nothing we have thrown at M thus far has broken her, so we are good to go!

I chose the Sillery Walk and Silverhurst Trail (Mike Lundy book again) for yesterday’s walk. It had all the things we had come to expect from a walk…. A bridge to take a photo on.

Water! And a place of contemplation.

Shade – always good.  More shade on the way there than on the way back, but enough.

A flat route. Well. This is expected but not always the case. This route is indeed flat, though. And a very pleasant walk.

Egyptian Geese. Not F’s favourites but apparently they are EVERYWHERE.

As we started after 8am, there were also Other People on the trails. And cyclists. I am happy to report the cyclists were all quite polite and didn’t try to run us off the road.

Apart from crossing the busy Constantia Main Road, this is a very pleasant walk to go on.

Next week we are doing something a little different – walking on a train! A steam train. And walking around Ceres (maybe running if we’re late for the train). Then the following walk we are back to Misty Cliffs to continue around the peninsula.
